How To Tie / Assemble

1Slide a bobber stop onto your main line followed by a small bead.
2Thread your slip bobber onto the main line.
3Add a sliding egg sinker (1/4 to 1 oz) to the main line, depending on bait weight.
4Tie a swivel to the end of your main line to act as a stop for the weight.
5Attach a 18-24 inch leader of lighter fluorocarbon to the bottom eye of the swivel.
6Tie a 5/0 to 8/0 circle hook to the end of the leader using a Palomar knot.

How To Use It

Cast the rig near submerged timber, rock piles, or current seams. Keep the rod tip high to maintain a taut line. When the bobber goes under, let the fish pull the line tight before engaging the reel and pulling back firmly to set the circle hook; do not jerk the rod aggressively.

This is the strongest knot for heavy mono or braid, ensuring the circle hook stays secure even when fighting a trophy-sized catfish.
