StopBox Security Cable Review: Is It Worth the Upgrade?
Quick Verdict
When you invest in a firearm storage solution like the StopBox, the primary goal is rapid access combined with security. While the boxes themselves are effective, they are portable. The Security Cable is a simple, no-nonsense accessory that anchors your storage to a fixed object. At a current sale price of $28 (down from $35), it is a cheap insurance policy for your gear.

Who Is This For?
The Security Cable is for the hunter or homeowner who values mobility but worries about their firearm storage being easily removed from a nightstand or dresser during a break-in. It is not designed to turn your box into a full-size floor safe; rather, it is meant to provide a tether that discourages smash-and-grab attempts.
Key Features & Build
This is a heavy-duty steel cable. There are no gimmicks here. The build quality is consistent with the StopBox brand—rugged, utilitarian, and built to survive the environment. It acts as an anchor, creating a physical bridge between your StopBox and a structural element in your room.
Pros & Cons
- Pros:
- Provides significant peace of mind for a low cost.
- Heavy-duty construction ensures it won't be easily cut or snapped.
- Currently on sale for $28.
- Often available as a FREE with purchase incentive.
- Cons:
- Requires a solid anchor point to be truly effective.
- Adds a small amount of clutter to your setup.
Real-World Use
In my testing, the integration was seamless. Using the cable is straightforward. Once anchored to a furniture leg or a permanent fixture, it keeps the StopBox Pro or StopBox Pro Compact in its designated spot while still allowing the lid to function without interference. If you are worried about someone grabbing the entire box, this is your solution.

Value for the Price
At $35 retail, the value is fair, but at the current $28 sale price, it is a no-brainer. If you are already looking at larger purchases like the StopBox Pro/Compact BOGO, keep an eye out for the "FREE with purchase" badge, as it can be a great value-add.
Comparison to the Lineup

Bonus: every $10 you spend in the BHH shop earns a free seat (up to 5). Use them or share them.
When comparing this to the rest of the accessories like the StopBox Universal Mag Carrier or the Motion Activated Light, the cable is clearly the most utilitarian. While the light is for convenience, the cable is for security. It complements the StopBox U-Can or even the StopBox Pro Ward - Wall-Mounted by providing that essential extra layer of defense. It does not replace a permanent mount, but it is much more portable and easier to deploy.
Final Call-to-Action
Don't let your defense equipment become portable for an intruder. Secure your investment today. Get your StopBox Security Cable here while the sale price lasts.
