About This Lure

A jointed hardbait that glides side to side on a slow retrieve, targeting big, wary fish.

How To Fish It

Cast the bait past target cover or along weed lines, allowing it to settle to the desired depth. Use short, rhythmic snaps of the rod tip to make the bait perform a wide, lateral 'S' path before pausing to allow the erratic glide to draw strikes from following predators.

Retrieve Cadence

Snap-snap-pause: give two sharp, crisp twitches followed by a two-second dead pause to let the bait suspend and rotate.

Best Colors

Ghost Shad— Clear water with high sunlight penetration.
Fire Tiger— Stained or murky water conditions.
Bluegill— Feeding on panfish in thick vegetation.
Chrome/Black back— Bright overcast days in open water.

Recommended Gear

7'6" heavy power fast-action baitcasting rod, 7.1:1 gear ratio baitcaster, 20-25lb fluorocarbon line.

Pro Tips

  • Always watch your bait as it nears the boat, as followers often strike right at the surface.
  • Replace stock treble hooks with oversized, heavy-duty hooks for better hook-up ratios on Musky.
  • Use a snap swivel to ensure maximum range of motion for the glide action.
  • Experiment with adding lead adhesive strips to the belly to fine-tune the sink rate.
