Who It's For
This unit is built for the individual who values rapid access above all else. If you are tired of fumbling with biometric scanners that fail with damp fingers or keypad codes that are impossible to remember in the dark, the Ward is for you. It is perfect for mounting next to a bedside, at a desk, or in a vehicle where space is at a premium and speed is critical.
Key Features and Build
The Ward version essentially takes the core mechanical engineering of the StopBox Pro and integrates a dedicated wall-mounting system. The build quality remains consistent with the rest of the lineup—sturdy, intuitive, and remarkably resistant to tampering. Because it is a mechanical device, you never have to worry about battery failure or software glitches.
Pros and Cons
- Pros:
- Zero-battery requirement ensures 100% mechanical reliability.
- Mounting system keeps the firearm at a natural, accessible height.
- Extremely fast deployment time under stress.
- Cons:
- Fixed mounting limits mobility compared to standard models.
- Requires a wall surface suitable for mounting hardware.
Real-World Use
In testing, the vertical orientation feels more ergonomic than a flat-mounted safe. The draw path is unobstructed, allowing for a natural grip immediately upon the lid popping open. It provides a level of peace of mind knowing the firearm is locked away from children or unauthorized users, yet available in seconds for the owner. The mount is solid, and once installed, it doesn't wobble or shake, providing a secure platform for your equipment.

Value for the Price
Currently, you can grab this unit for $139. Given the reliability of the mechanical lock, this is a fair price for a high-quality security device. How It Compares
Raise a safe, confident young hunter.
Guide your kids ages 5–17 through interactive hunting safety missions, real decision drills, and earned trophies — all from one free parent account.
Bonus: every $10 you spend in the BHH shop earns a free seat (up to 5). Use them or share them.
The Ward occupies a specific niche. While the StopBox Pro Compact is better for travel or tight concealment, the Ward is meant for permanent home defense stations. If you don't need a wall mount, the standard Pro model remains the go-to. Regardless of which you choose, you can supplement your setup with a Security Cable for added peace of mind.
Final Recommendation
If you want the fastest, most reliable way to secure a defensive firearm on a wall, the StopBox Pro Ward is the gold standard. It is well-engineered, robust, and currently priced right.
