Meet the Maker: Jeff Cote of SE Ohio Outdoors
Finding Purpose at the Workbench
There is a specific kind of quiet that lives in a workshop after dark. For Jeff Cote, the man behind SE Ohio Outdoors, that quiet is where the real work happens. Based in the heart of the U.S., Jeff isn’t a massive manufacturing plant or a faceless corporation. He’s a hunter who saw a gap in the gear market and decided to fill it himself.

SE Ohio Outdoors started as a collaborative project between Jeff and his wife. Their mission was straightforward: bring quality, functional accessories to the outdoor community without the inflated price tags that seem to follow big-box brands. When you buy from Jeff, you’re not just buying a piece of plastic; you’re supporting a household that understands exactly what it’s like to head into the timber before dawn.
The Craft of Small-Batch Gear
What sets hand-built gear apart from the mass-produced aisles of sporting goods stores is the intention behind every piece. Jeff focuses on archery and saddle hunting accessories, a niche that demands durability and smart design. By using high-quality ABS plastic, he creates tools that can withstand the abuse of a season in the saddle without weighing you down.
When you handle something made by a maker, you can feel the difference. There is no automated assembly line logic here; there is only a focus on utility. Jeff builds these pieces because he uses them, and he understands that when you’re hanging from a tree, you don’t want to be worrying about your equipment failing.
Featured Build: The Shed Antler Hanger
We’ve all got them—the piles of antlers sitting in the corner of the garage, collecting dust and getting kicked around until they inevitably break or get lost. Jeff’s is the perfect solution for the woodsman who respects his finds. It’s a clean, simple, and effective way to turn those scattered sheds into a proper display on your wall.
