About This Lure

A single-hook spoon with a weedguard, designed to skitter over matted grass and pads.

How To Fish It

Cast the weedless spoon over shallow grass flats, lily pads, or timber where pike and bass ambush prey. Keep your rod tip high to maintain the lure on the surface, creating a rhythmic wake that triggers explosive reaction strikes. The built-in wire guard allows you to pull the lure through the thickest cover without snagging.

Retrieve Cadence

A steady, medium-fast retrieve to keep the spoon wobbling on the surface without it diving into the vegetation.

Best Colors

Gold— Clear water or bright, sunny days.
Silver— Overcast days or mimicking baitfish in open pockets.
Copper— Stained water or late afternoon low-light conditions.
White/Red— General purpose for aggressive pike in murky water.

Sizes & When To Use

1/2 ozStandard size for general bass and smaller pike applications.
3/4 ozIdeal for long-distance casts and heavy-duty pike hunting.

Commonly Rigged On

Recommended Gear

7-foot heavy power, fast action casting rod paired with a 7.1:1 gear ratio baitcaster, spooled with 50lb braid for winching fish out of heavy slop.

Pro Tips

  • Add a soft plastic curly tail or paddle tail trailer to the hook for added vibration and a bigger profile.
  • If a fish strikes and misses, keep your retrieve steady; often they will loop back and hammer it a second time.
  • Ensure the wire weed guard is tensioned properly against the hook point to prevent snagging on stems while still allowing for a solid hookset.
  • When fishing over thick mats, pause the spoon momentarily over pockets to let it flutter down just under the surface.
