About This Lure

A hollow soft plastic with a tentacled skirt that spirals on the fall, deadly on smallmouth around rock.

How To Fish It

Cast to bottom-oriented structure and let the bait sink on a semi-slack line to mimic a dying crawfish. Once it hits bottom, use your rod tip to drag it slowly through cover, occasionally popping it upward to trigger reactionary strikes from bottom-hugging bass.

Retrieve Cadence

Two sharp rod-tip pops followed by a three-second dead-stick pause on the bottom.

Best Colors

Green Pumpkin— Clear water and general sunny conditions
Watermelon Red Flake— Bright days with sparse vegetation
Smoke Pepper— Finesse scenarios in highly pressured water
Black and Blue— Stained water or low-light conditions

Pro Tips

  • Trim the tentacles slightly if you notice fish short-striking or nipping at the tail.
  • Insert a glass rattle into the hollow head to add extra vibration in murky or stained water.
  • Always check your knot after every few casts, as the tube's rotation can cause line twist and abrasion.
  • Dip the tail tips in chartreuse dye to add a high-visibility strike point for neutral fish.
