About This Lure

A soft plastic with multiple appendages that thrash on the fall, ideal on a Texas rig or flipping into cover.

How To Fish It

Target high-percentage cover like heavy grass mats, laydowns, or boat docks by pitching the bait into the heart of the structure. Let it sink on a semi-slack line to ensure a natural fall, watching your line closely for any erratic movement or ticking sensations during the descent. If it doesn't get hammered immediately, impart a subtle twitch and pause before pulling it out for the next target.

Retrieve Cadence

Let the bait hit the bottom, lift your rod tip to create a rhythmic hopping motion, and pause for three seconds to let the appendages flutter.

Best Colors

Black and Blue— Muddy or stained water conditions
Green Pumpkin— Clear water and natural forage environments
Watermelon Red— Bright sunny days with heavy vegetation

Recommended Gear

7'6" heavy-power fast-action rod, 7.1:1 gear ratio baitcasting reel, 20-25lb fluorocarbon or 50-65lb braided line.

Pro Tips

  • Trim the legs or antennas to change the fall rate in high-pressure water.
  • Always peg your weight when fishing heavy grass to ensure the bait falls through the canopy at the same speed as your sinker.
  • Use a scent spray to mask human odors and add a trail for fish to follow in murky water.
  • Check your hook point constantly, as creature baits are prone to snagging wood and shifting out of the weedless position.
