My First Buck with a Bow

I was able to really pattern this buck basically watching him on camera go into the swamp from the crop fields, right about when I would be walking into the stand in the morning. The buck was also coming out in daylight almost every evening. I had to wait for October 11 for the right wind and went in after him. Later in the evening a doe and fawn worked their way out of the swamp and I could hear another deer behind them. I was figuring it was twin to the first fawn but no it was the Double Throat Patch Buck! The buck came down a logging road and was broadside at 35 yards. I was able to get a shot off with my Hoyt Crx and it was a perfect double lung shot. The buck reeled and ran into the swamp but only made it 35 yards before going down. I had then been hunting with a bow for 7 seasons and had yet to harvest a buck. Granted I was being super picky about what I harvested and I messed up a fair amount too. It was truly rewarding to see all the reps and hard work finally come to fruition.
